Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Business Unit Controller manages revenue and related expense reporting for the Dexter Axle Business Unit, ensuring control, accuracy, predictability and timely reporting of results, comparative analysis and commentary to Senior Leadership.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Manages and supports all BU revenue and expense reporting, ensuring control, accuracy, predictability and timely delivery of results, analysis, and comments. Ensures all Plant reporting for the BU is completed accurately and on-time.
  • Prepares the Annual Operating Plan for the Business Unit.
  • Manages the capital budget and provide monthly updates and forecast.
  • Manages the maintenance and accuracy of standard costs in conjunction with Corporate Cost Accounting on BOMs, routers, and purchase standards.
  • Manages inventory reporting and accuracy.
  • Supports BU in pursuit of financial targets through in-depth analysis and sharing of financial knowledge.
  • Coordinates and supports any allocations/cost between BU’s and support of transfer prices.
  • Actively ensures compliance with laws and corporate financial policies and practices.
  • Communicates, discusses, and challenges financial impacts with Plant Managers.
  • Develops Plant resources in financial best practices, analysis, and reporting.
  • Prepares and/or presents for meetings where financial input/commentary is required/requested.
  • Attends as requested, quarterly management and other BU related finance meetings.
  • Owns, manages, and completes financial information requests from Senior Leadership.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Coordinates with Corporate Controller on information to complete GAAP financial statements with proposed adjustments.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a comparable discipline and at least 8 year of experience in performing the same or similar job function; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's Degree and/or C.P.A is preferred but not required.
