Rockwell American, a Dexter company, the premier supplier and manufacturer of axles, doors, venting products and related components in the utility trailer, boat trailer, recreational vehicle, heavy duty and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a CDL Delivery Driver at our Irondale, AL location - conveniently located near Birmingham, AL area.

Position Summary

To safely drive a CDL truck on intrastate and interstate routes for the purpose of delivering and unloading various products in a safe, timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations. To deliver the products accurately, on time, and damage free, while maintaining positive customer relations. 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver goods while operating company-owned Class A CDL truck
  • Load and unload cargo with a forklift. (Certification will be required and provided by company)
  • Drive long distances (One overnight average per week)
  • Maintain trucks records according to state and federal regulations
  • Maintain contact with base office with any issues during daily route
  • Obtain customer signature or collect payment for good as required
  • Plan route using maps or GPS
  • Maintain daily drives log book according to Rockwell American, state and federal regulations (EDL coming soon)
  • Perform other duties as required by management

Requirements

Position requires a High School Diploma or GED along with 3 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Position also requires an active Class A CDL license and tarping experience. Qualified candidate must be able to pass company forklift training and certification as well as pre-employment medical certification, drug screen, background check, and CDL verification. On average, position requires 1 overnight per week.
