Position Summary

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the General Accountant is responsible for applying principles of accounting, researching and evaluating accounting data in order to provide financial information to management in the areas of payroll, fixed assets, tax, or treasury.


Specific responsibilities:

  • Reconciles and maintains assigned balance sheet accounts with proper supporting documentation.
  • Performs general accounting functions, including operation of the general ledger system, journal entries, and month-end close.
  • Constructs and issues ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports including fixed assets, treasury, and inter-company.
  • Supports annual financial audits with journals, reconciliations and explanations.
  • Assists in development of financial policies.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Assists plants in resolving plant accounting issues.
  • Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.


Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or comparable discipline and at least 3 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have demonstrated proficiency in accounting. Must be highly analytical with proven ability to analyze and solve problems. Must be results driven, technically capable, effective written and verbal communicator, service oriented, and a self-starter. Must be able to perform work to a high level of quality standards while meeting established deadlines. Strong knowledge of general ledger and GAAP Treasury experience a plus.
