    Dexter, the premier supplier and manufacturer of axles, doors, venting products and related components in the utility trailer, boat trailer, recreational vehicle, heavy duty and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a Materials Manager in our El Reno, OK facility, located near Weatherford, OK, Kingfisher, OK, Yukon, OK, Oklahoma City, OK, and Chickasha, OK.

    Position Summary

    The Materials Manager is responsible for the material planning, inventory management, and scheduling activities dedicate to supporting the production of finished goods.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Analyze, plan, and manage all material control related activities supporting current demand and changing business priorities covering both current production and customer service requirements.
    • Utilize company ERP System to schedule, forecast, monitor, and control production, shipping, and receiving activities at multiple sites.
    • Organize warehouse.
    • Inventory management including participation in variance analysis, implementing corrective actions, and performing annual physical inventories.
    • Analyze and resolve transactional errors/omissions compromising record accuracy and customer service. 
    • Communicate with sales, production and shipping to ensure timely customer deliveries.
    • Assist production supervisors in daily operations.
    • Resolve production problems and recommend solutions.
    • Perform other duties as instructed.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Direct reports include Receiving Employees, Purchasing Clerk Coordinator and Materials Coordinator.


    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Ability to supervise and motivate salaried and hourly personnel and to work across departmental lines effectively.
    • Receiving experience.
    • Experience in Lean Inventory management and control techniques.
    • Ability to perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
    • Skilled in basic material handling disciplines including part planning, part storage and warehousing management.
    • Strong computer skills including use of ERP systems and MS Office applications (Word & Excel).

    Education and Experience

    • Position requires a Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in fields of inventory control, material planning, and scheduling.
    • 6 Sigma and APICs Certification are a plus.
