    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Engineering Lab and Facilities Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties for the headquarters office and test lab facility.

    • Schedules, coordinates, directs and performs routine and comprehensive custodial maintenance in office and shop areas.
    • Removes trash in accordance with established procedures.
    • Performs preventative maintenance in and around building.
    • Removes snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.
    • Loads and unloads supplies, and moves copy paper boxes, furniture, and equipment using dollies, handcarts, or power equipment.
    • Performs routine checks of fire extinguishers and exit lighting.
    • Communicates any problems that require further maintenance attention to supervisor and follows-up until issues are resolved.
    • Services, cleans, and supplies restrooms as needed.
    • Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.


    Position requires a High School Diploma or GED, technical school or certification a plus. Qualified candidates must be able to perform basic building maintenance including painting, faucet repair, basic plumbing and grounds keeping. Basic computer skills, ability to follow specific instructions, good communication skills, team player, innovative, self-motivated, punctual, strong mechanical aptitude as well as ability to work overtime when required.
