    Position Summary

    The position is located at the company’s corporate office in Elkhart, IN and reports to the Director of Human Resources.


    The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing support in functional areas of human resources including but not limited to recruitment and employment, organization development, training, employee and labor relations, compensation management, personnel records, benefits administration, and special projects. 


    The Human Resources Generalist will be a key partner to management throughout the company in helping navigate through difficult human resources related issues. The HR Generalist will assist in the development and implementation of human resources policies, procedures and programs, and will prepare reports and correspondence in conformance with legislative requirements and organizational needs. The HR Generalist will be the primary person responsible for corporate hiring.


    The position requires some overtime and occasional travel; generally less than 5% overnight travel is required.


    The position requires strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective professional relationships with employees at all levels in the organization. The successful candidate must be highly professional, confidential, and able to set and manage priorities. An engaging personality and the demonstration of professional credibility are necessary for the successful fulfillment of responsibilities. Excellent communication, presentation, writing and analytical skills are required for job success.


    Knowledge of adult learning principles and human resources administration is necessary for effective job performance.  Position requires a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline and at least three (3) years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing company; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional in Human Resources certification (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) is preferred.
