    Rockwell American, a Dexter company, the premier supplier and manufacturer of axles, doors, venting products and related components in the utility trailer, boat trailer, recreational vehicle, heavy duty and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor at our Seagoville, TX facility - conveniently located in the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) area.  The plant encompasses 78,000 square feet and has approximately 90 non-union employees operating on two shifts.

    Position Summary

    The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of six Maintenance Technicians and will report directly to the Maintenance Manager at Rockwell American's Spring Manufacturing plant in Seagoville, TX. The Maintenance Supervisor will support plant facilities, the maintenance of existing equipment and the implementation of new machinery and processes in order to drive continuous improvement in product quality, process efficiency and safety.


    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


    • Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems using schematics and technical drawings.
    • Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, and other equipment in the facility as required.
    • Ensure equipment and machines operate in a safe manner and are in compliance with all safety related regulations.
    • Perform Routine Preventive Maintenance.
    • Perform emergency repairs to equipment or machines as needed.
    • Fabricate components as needed for machinery repairs (cutting and welding)
    • Support plant growth by installing new equipment and support services including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic lines.
    • Log repairs as per our preventive maintenance program
    • Complete maintenance request tickets.


    Requires Associate’s Degree in Engineering, or a comparable discipline and at least 6 years related experience progressively responsible manufacturing maintenance experience, with at least two years in a lead/supervisory role or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

    • Experience in high-volume metal fabrication (e.g. OBI Presses, rolling mills, and industrial furnaces) and assembly in the automotive or transportation sectors a plus.
    • Experience with Emaint or similar CMMS software platforms preferred.
    • Robotic experience required; experience with Motoman robots preferred.
    • Demonstrated results in developing and mentoring a team of maintenance technicians.
    • Experience working in organizational culture that employs Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, Kaizen or other lean manufacturing methodologies.
    • Experience with successfully implementing TPM and SS programs.
    • Willingness to work flexible shifts and extended hours as necessary to support production needs.
    • Exceptional problem solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
    • Must have a can-do attitude combined with a high energy level.
    • Able to assist in developing the annual CAPEX plan and plant operating budget.
