    Rockwell American, a Dexter company, the premier supplier and manufacturer of axles, doors, venting products and related components in the utility trailer, boat trailer, recreational vehicle, heavy duty and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a HSE Coordinator at our Seagoville, TX facility - conveniently located in the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) area.  The plant encompasses 78,000 square feet and has approximately 90 non-union employees operating on two shifts.

    Position Summary

    The HSE Coordinator reports directly to the Plant Manager at Rockwell American’s Leaf Spring Manufacturing plant in Seagoville, TX.  The HSE coordinator will develop, implement, and champion policies and procedures that promote employee safety and well-being. 

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Advise on provisions to minimize safety risks
    • Develop and enforce OSHA policies (e.g. accident reporting process)
    • Direct accident investigation procedures and log of all near misses.
    • Keep records of safety-related incidents and propose corrective actions
    • Organize and conduct OSHA training plans
    • Collaborate with managers to monitor compliance and identify safety issues
    • Intervene in unsafe activities or operations
    • Liaise with and report to official regulatory bodies on OSHA matters
    • Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Requires Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and 2 to 5 years specific experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

    Desires the following:

    •  Willingness to work flexible shifts and extended hours as necessary to support production needs
    • Can-do attitude combined with high energy level
    • Proven experience as safety coordinator or similar
    • In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines and practices
    • Experience in reporting and developing policies
    • Experience in implementing OSHA training programs
    • Excellent communication and advisory skills
    • Diligent with an analytical mind
