Position Summary

The Role:  The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of three Maintenance Technicians and will report directly to the Plant Manager at Rockwell American’s Axle Manufacturing plant in Royse City, TX.  The Maintenance Manager will support plant facilities, the maintenance of existing equipment and the implementation of new machinery and processes in order to drive continuous improvement in product quality, process efficiency and safety.  The plant itself encompasses 54,000 ft2 and has approximately 70 non-union employees operating on two shifts. 


The Requirements:  To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

  • 7-10 years of progressively responsible manufacturing maintenance experience with an emphasis on high-volume metal fabrication (e.g. forming, cutting, welding) and assembly.  Robotic experience required, automotive or transportation sector experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated results in developing and mentoring a team of maintenance technicians.
  • Experience working in organizational culture that employs Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, Kaizen or other lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Experience with successfully implementing TPM and 5S programs.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts and extended hours as necessary to support production needs.
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Experience with implementing a CMMS system from ground level.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with all levels of the organization. 
  • Must have a can-do attitude combined with a high energy level.
  • Able to assist in developing the annual CAPEX plan and plant operating budget.
