Position Summary

Rockwell American is seeking an Engineering Assistant/CAD Designer for our axle manufacturing facility located in Royse City, TX.  The successful candidate will report directly to the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Create, update and maintain bills of material in ERP system.
  • Confer with engineering to determine design modifications, making changes using CAD and saving information in project database libraries.
  • Retrieving design information from project database libraries.
  • Maintaining and updating files relating to specified design project database library.
  • Works with internal and external customers to provide technical information for Rockwell’s axle products.
  • Maintains plant labor and material cost standards and works with Quality and Production personnel to ensure conformance.
  • Works with the Engineering Manager to improve tooling and fixtures on production floor.
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

Position requires an Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology or a comparable discipline and 2 years of experience in performing same or similar job function, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Position requirements include proficiency in SolidWorks, engineering changes, and design for manufacture and assembly experience.  Familiarity with manufacturing processes including welding, powder coating, and assembly preferred.  Must be detail oriented, mechanically inclined, and a team player.
