Position Summary

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, monitoring, and developing systems affecting the manufacturing cycle of a product.


Specific responsibilities of the position include:

  • Providing PLC and robot support for automation equipment in the manufacturing process, including welders, robots, conveyors, and other equipment.
  • Contributing to the company’s continuous improvement efforts by performing value analysis.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of manufacturing control systems.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities within the organization.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, prints, schematics, and operation sheets

 Position requires some travel; generally less than 25% overnight travel is required.


Position requires a BS degree in Engineering or a comparable discipline and 7 years of experience in performing same or similar job function; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Successful candidates will be proficient in AutoCAD Mechanical or Inventor as well as MS Office.  Experience in PLC/MES or robot programming in a manufacturing environment is preferred.  Candidates must be capable of working with individuals at all levels of a manufacturing organization. Must show good judgment in technical and non-technical areas, and must be able to make effective decisions in high pressure situations. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are required.
