Position Summary

The Payroll Accountant organizes and manages all aspects of payroll through the company’s payroll system. Prepares and/or analyzes periodic payroll reports, payroll schedules, and payroll related journal entries using established policies, procedures, and guidelines on a timely manner. Also responsible for coordinating with payroll service provider on issues affecting company payroll.  The Payroll Accountant will perform the following essential duties: 

  • Performs payroll and garnishment administration.
  • Coordinates bi-weekly payroll process and payment distribution.
  • Provides ad hoc reporting for management, tax and governmental reports.
  • Provides reporting on labor and production information. Processes payment for company incentive programs.
  • Assists in development of financial policies.
  • Provides payroll support and guidance to manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and management.
  • Performs general accounting functions relating to payroll, including operation of the general ledger system, journal entries, and month-end close.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.


Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting and at least 3 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Minimum of 3 years of experience with ADP payroll system, Microsoft Office and intermediate Excel skills are required.
