Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Manager - 3rd Party is responsible for managing the distribution operations and functions including the movement of products, parts, and inventory for the Distribution facility. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Providing needed support to the warehouse and delivery team through various avenues in an effort to improve overall operations and customer experience
  •  Monitoring inventory including reserved, available, damaged, and in-stock by tracking each level daily
  •  Monitoring, preparing and loading of customer orders
  •  Providing customer service solutions as the need arises in a timely and customer friendly manner
  •  Conducting weekly cycle counts to verify the accuracy of inventory at the warehouse facility
  •  Servicing customers at the highest level of satisfaction through quality service, courteous employees, and quick response to needs
  •  Reviewing and evaluating performance of assigned operation functions, addressing performance gaps, and taking corrective action, as needed, to ensure each functional  area are delivering on operating goals
  •  Monitoring current and previous quality deficiencies, investigating to find root causes, and implementing solutions to reduce future quality deficiencies 
  • Ensuring complete and adequate documentation of procedures and tasks completed
  •  Completing various reporting functions in a timely manner
  •  Conducting focus group, safety, and other location meetings
  •  Other duties as assigned, essential, or otherwise

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

Directly supervising hourly Distribution employees and salaried Distribution Supervisors.  Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in Business or related discipline and at least 5 years supervisory/warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment/within distribution, supply chain, or logistics functions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to produce clear written instructions and other business documents
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  •  Ability to work flexible hours
  •  Exceptional communication and team building skills
  •  Must be able to develop and lead highly productive teams with a focus on individual accountability
  •  Ability to effectively communicate, interact and convey business decisions with many different levels within the organization.
  •  Must be computer literate, can effectively supervise others and willing and capable of handling employee and customer problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work any shift
