Position Summary



Coordinates and expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments. The incumbent ensures vendor's and Dexter Purchase Order's (PO) accurately display the same quantity, pricing, and PO number. Confirms vendor paperwork for accuracy and within 24 hours of goods arriving at Dexter submits to receiving. The incumbent will also serve as the back up to the materials supervisor to provide on demand reports, maintaining spreadsheets for multiple vendors, processing semi- annual inventory checks, and tracking the physical inventory.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  • Immediately act upon hotlists from KPI boards and provide written responses back to the leads.
  • Provide immediate response and feedback to production leadership on texted and emailed hot listed items.
  • Analyze the “Kanban” audit sheets and place orders as needed and provide immediate feedback to leads and production supervision.
  • Immediately act upon production supply list request and provide written responses back to the leads.
  • Review documents such as KPI hot-lists, Kanban sheets, and production supplies to determine material prioritization, availability, and requirements.
  • Confer with establishment personnel to coordinate with vendors and production or shipping activities eliminate delays / parts outages (e.g. Establishing  outside processing tracking sheets). 
  • Arranges intercompany transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Compute’s amount of long lead time material requirements with materials required necessary to complete short lead time job orders.
  • Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials.
  • Manage assemblies according to production and shipping schedules.
  • Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material. 
  • Requisitions materials and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability. 
  • Manage assemblies according to production and shipping schedules through purchase orders, shop order management and receiving process. 
  • Interact with vendors to ensure all pack slips and invoices match purchase orders. 
  • Print shop orders, distribute, correct issues, and complete all labor entry from finished shop orders daily. 
  • Arrange for repair of non-conforming material or customer returned parts. 
  • Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.

Education and Experience


  • Requires associate degree in Business or a comparable discipline and at least 4 years work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
