Position Summary


The Production Superintendent reports directly to the Plant Manager, and will be responsible for all the plant operations of Rockwell American’s Axle Manufacturing plant in Royse City, TX.  The Superintendent will lead the plant’s hourly workforce to meet aggressive output targets while also helping to drive continuous improvement in product quality, process efficiency and safety.  The plant itself encompasses 54,000 ft2 and has approximately 70 non-union employees operating on two shifts. 


  • An Associate’s degree in Business or a technical discipline and a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible supervisory experience (including at least three years as a Superintendent of a similar-sized facility) within a heavy manufacturing environment with an emphasis on high-volume metal fabrication (e.g. forming, cutting, heat treatment) and assembly.  Automotive or transportation sector experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with the common tools of a continuous improvement organizational culture such as Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, Kaizen or other lean manufacturing methodologies and the monitoring and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
  • Experience with industrial automation.
  • Experience leading a highly seasonal operation requiring rapid changes in output and a high degree of product variation.
  • Experience with successfully implementing 5S programs.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and reporting tools.
  • Exceptional problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to interact with all levels of the organization. 
  • Must be results oriented with a high energy level.
