Position Summary

The Controls Technician serves is part of the maintenance team that supports production and works on special projects and provide technical support of manufacturing equipment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics and technical drawings.
  • Responsible for new equipment install and debugging, and facility projects as well as other duties involving, but not limited to machine systems, controls, logic, and programming.
  • Able to perform, diagnose, write PLC Ladder Logic using Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Allen Bradley, and Omron.
  • Assists in training and developing new employees on various machines and work processes to perform all operations while ensuring safety requirements are followed.
  • Responsible for repairing equipment, fixtures, systems, and other equipment in the facility as required.
  • Must ensure that equipment and machines are operating safely and follow all safety regulations.
  • Responsible for performing Routine Preventative Maintenance (RPM) tasks on a variety of equipment.
  • Responsible for basic housekeeping.
  • Must perform other duties as required or requested by management.
  • Ability to read and demonstrate understanding of documents such as safety rules, work instructions, maintenance instructions, employee handbook, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work overtime or outside of their regular shift to meet plant production requirements.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold environments.
  • Ability to work in loud environments requiring hearing protection.

 

 

Requirements

Requirements:

  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification a plus.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Able to read and understand schematics is preferred.
  • Experience with metal processing equipment, in particularly to presses and heat-treating equipment, preferred.
  • Experience with Motorman Robotics, preferred.
  • Experience with E-Maintenance CMMS, preferred.
  • Able to utilize a caliper, micrometer and tape measure
  • Must be proficient in the English language to include reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred
  • Position requires an Associate’s Degree and at least 5 years of electrical maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in ladder Logic PLC controllers (Siemens, Allen Bradley/Rockwell, and Omron
  • Must have at least (3) three years experience working with 3 phase high voltage systems. 5 Years Technical Experience preferred in Troubleshooting and Voltages between 0 to 460 AC.
