Position Summary

Reporting to the Business Unit Controller, the Financial Analyst will direct and lead all complex financial planning & analysis, budgeting, cost accounting, and reporting functions for the location.  The financial analyst will also develop standard weekly and monthly reports, performance management dashboards, and conduct ad-hoc analysis of key opportunities for the location. This position will be the “Go-To” resource for the location leadership team from a financial perspective and will have considerable interaction with and visibility to the entire location, BU, and Dexter Leadership teams.


Key tasks for this role will include:

  • Prepare and analyze financial information and reports.
  • Lead the forecast and annual budgeting processes for the location.
  • Perform sales mix, margin and profitability analysis.
  • Perform Bill of Material audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Lead and perform time studies to improve standard routing accuracy.
  • Perform freight analysis to ensure minimization of freight costs.
  • Perform analysis of scrap transactions to identify root cause.
  • Assist with cycle counts and provide analysis of results to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Provide analysis of spending to identify focus areas and assist with cost minimization.
  • Track capital spending with comparisons to budget and project costs.
  • Monitor and reconcile unvouchered liabilities and vendor returns.
  • Be the location business partner for the Operations and Sales organizations.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.


The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance along with a minimum of three years of related experience in financial analysis. Candidate must be a passionate self-starter with high energy and an enthusiastic, can-do attitude coupled with self-awareness, humility, and the ability to listen before acting. High degree of personal responsibility, strong work ethic, team player, builder of good relationships internally and with customers and has a high level of personal and professional integrity.



  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel / PowerPoint.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and integrity.
  • Proven problem-solving ability.
  • Desire to take learn quickly and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral. Able to articulate complex concepts to colleagues and management.
