Dexter, the premier supplier and manufacturer of axles, doors, venting products and related components in the utility trailer, boat trailer, recreational vehicle, heavy duty and manufactured housing markets, has an opportunity for a General Accountant at our CERKA acquired site in Milton, Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Applies principles of accounting, researches, and analyzes accounting data in order to provide financial information to management in the areas of general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Performs general accounting functions, including operation of the general ledger system, journal entries, and month-end close
• Manages accounts payable and accounts receivable for business unit
• Performs balance sheet account reconciliations and associated journal entries
• Supports ad hoc and routine daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and analysis for business unit and corporate
• Provides cost analysis for business unit based on actual data
• Assists in development of financial policies
• Assists plants in resolving plant accounting issues
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls
• Performs other tasks or duties as assigned

Education

• Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting

Experience

• Minimum 5 years related professional experience
• Previous supervision experienced preferred, although the role does not have direct reports
• Wired professionally so as not to need frequent feedback or direction
• Must be a self-starter, self-disciplined, and driven;  able to take direction and execute
• Must be technically capable
• Strong consultative skill set
• Must be highly analytical with ability to analyze and solve problems
• Must be highly organized
• Must be results driven
• Must be able to see broad strategic view
