Position Summary

We are in search of an experienced and results-driven Logistics Manager to oversee the company's inbound and outbound freight, ensuring economic competitiveness and service for our business units.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
  • Track carrier performance metrics on-time delivery, service quality, etc. and promptly resolve any issues.
  • Oversee the management of rental, leased, and owned assets for fleet optimization and uptime.
  • Oversee logistics and transportation, implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and optimize freight spend.
  • Oversee Logistics Freight Pay & Audit process with all functional areas of business including relationship with 3rd party supplier.
  • Assist with Dexter Fleet compliance with FMSCA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to company trucking operations inclusive of driver qualification files.
  • Assist in preparing the logistics department budget, including forecasting expenses and allocating resources effectively.
  • Utilize data analytics to evaluate logistics performance, identify areas for improvement, and prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators and logistics metrics.
  • Partner alongside accounting, operations, and third-party audit companies to ensure there is a robust process for freight pay and audits.
  • Provide support to fleet staff under Shipping/Receiving Managers.
  • Approximately 20% of travel required.

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of proven experience as a Logistics Manager or in a similar role, with a successful track record in supply chain optimization.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of DOT compliance, Fleet Operating Procedures, and applicable audit processes is a prerequisite.
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain management principles, practices, and software systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in using logistics management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
