Position Summary

The Engineering Intern is responsible for assisting the Dexter Team with engineering project identification, project support, and project leadership as assigned by partnering and collaborating with the Engineering Team and Site Team.   

 

More specifically, this position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following: 

 

  • Project definition, scoping and documented project plan 
  • Continuous improvement 
  • Capital projects 
  • Safety improvements 
  • Automation 
  • Debottlenecking and capacity utilization 
  • Time studies 
  • Ergonomic studies and improvements 
  • Troubleshooting equipment and processes 
  • Plant layout 
  • Project estimation 
  • Material handling 
  • Create documents, drawings, training as needed to support and complete project(s) 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Experience:  High School Diploma required and a current student actively attending an accredited University in a related Major program of study.

Education Program/Area of Study:  Engineering Major (Industrial, Mechanical, Safety)

Language Required:  English

Engineering Fundamentals:  Clear, professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Problem-solving methodology

Computer skills including Microsoft Office
