Position Summary

The Warehouse/Driver is responsible for driving the truck over established routes to transport inbound/outbound product between DATs, Off Site Warehouses, and Central Warehouse as well as other locations as directed while complying with all state and federal DOT regulations.  Staging inbound/outbound trailers in specified doors to promote optimum efficiency for unloading and loading of products.

 

Duties and Tasks:

 

1. Comply with all state and federal DOT regulations.
2. Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on delivery equipment and submit/maintain required DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) and D.O.T. Driver's Daily Log according to D.O.T and DAT's regulations.
3. Shuttle inbound and outbound trailers between DATs, off site warehouses, and Central Warehouse daily as directed by supervisor.
4. Check load to ensure safe and undamaged delivery of products. Refuse load if not safely loaded or if equipment is defective.
5. Perform daily delivery and pick up at Redline Products LLC by 3:00 PM
6. Keep interior and exterior of truck/trailer combination neat and clean
7. Other local deliveries and pick ups as directed by supervisor
8. Stage inbound / outbound trailers to the specified dock doors as directed by supervisor.
9. Keep Central Warehouse lot organized with dropped trailers safely positioned and drop legs on steel plates when necessary
10. Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe manner compliant with all Federal and State laws
11. Be able to operate all warehouse equipment, and perform warehouse duties as needed
12. Ensure that all outbound trailers for the next days load outs are staged in the specified dock doors as directed by supervisor, no later than 3:00 p.m. each day in an effort to optimize loading efficiency.
13. Accurately and safely physically receive all inbound product to the Central Warehouse by verifying the product type and count against the vendors packing list. Accurately receive all inbound product into Central’s logistics systems via a hand held computer.
14. Accurately and safely physically put away all received product to the specified overflow, over stock, or primary location. Accurately record all product
movement transactions into Central’s logistics system via a hand held computer.
15. Accurately and safely physically pull orders, verifying product type and count. Accurately record all product movement transactions into Central’s logistics system via a hand held computer.
16. Accurately and safely physically package all product in a manner that it will arrive at our Branches or company subsidiaries in new condition. Physically package all product in a manner to maximize the cube of the shipping pallet or crate, ensuring that the pallet or crate is flat, square, and level to ensure optimum use of cube space once loaded onto an outbound trailer. Accurately record all product movement transactions into Central’s logistics system via a hand held computer.
17. Follow personal safe work practices on equipment, use all personal protective equipment prescribed, and report all safety issues or injuries to management promptly no matter how minor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 12 months CDL licensed.
  • 12 months OTR flatbed and dry van experience
  • Must meet requirements set forth in part 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Willingness to accept other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Ability to work weekends and to work overtime as needed
  • Capable of lifting objects, of variable size, up to 50 pounds, to a height of 60 inches from the floor
