Position Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations within our manufacturing plants. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate logistics efficiently to ensure the timely delivery of goods and materials.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise a team of shipping and receiving personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Coordinate outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Communicate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Oversee the receipt of incoming materials and products, ensuring accurate documentation and proper storage.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and train staff on safety procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to coordinate shipping and receiving activities.
  • Ensure that all shipping and receiving equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, is properly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving activities, including bills of lading, packing slips, and inventory reports.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for shipping and receiving staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems and in modules that are necessary for daily shipping and Receiving requirements.
  • Maintain items record, document necessary information, and utilize reports to project warehouse status and needs.
  • Oversee and manage all our fleet needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.

3-5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.

Microsoft Office suits and other EPR/MRP and Shipping/Receiving software proficiency required.

Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, inventory management, and logistics.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to lift heavy objects and operate material handling equipment.
