Position Summary

The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions to support the organization's strategic objectives. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements, developing and maintaining data warehouses, creating reports and dashboards, and ensuring the accuracy and availability of data for decision-making.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Collaborate with business users to gather and analyze their BI requirements.
    • Develop, publish, and schedule reports and dashboards to meet business needs.
    • Ensure data accuracy and consistency in reporting.
  2. Database Management:
    • Manage and maintain databases and data warehouse systems.
    • Perform data cleansing and validation.
  3. Tool Development and Integration:
    • Develop and maintain BI tools, including OLAP cubes, data models, and reporting tools with a strong focus on Microsoft Power BI.
    • Integrate BI tools with other business applications and systems.
  4. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Monitor BI system performance and optimize as necessary.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve BI tool and data issues.
  5. User Training and Support:
    • Provide training and support to business users on BI tools and reports.
    • Develop documentation and user guides for BI solutions.

Requirements

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, as well as 5+ years of experience in BI development, data analysis, or related roles.

Successful applicants will also have technical expertise with:

    • Significant experience developing reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI.
    • Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems.
    • Experience with ETL tools and processes.
    • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Micosoft Azure Synapse
    • Experience in developing BI solutions for Manufacturing and Distribution businesses
